Virtual Open Day for the Academic year 2026–2027
Shan State Buddhist University (SSBU) warmly invites all prospective students, scholars, and members of the Buddhist community to join our Virtual Open Day for the Academic Year 2026–2027, to be held on Saturday, 6 December 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:20 PM (Myanmar Time) via Zoom.
This special online event offers an excellent opportunity to learn about SSBU’s diverse undergraduate, postgraduate, and MA programs in Pāli and Buddhist Studies, as well as courses that integrate philosophy, history, and contemporary Buddhist thought. Participants will meet our Rector Sayādaw, faculty members, and academic advisors, and gain insights into the university’s unique approach to Buddhist higher education, which harmonizes traditional monastic training with modern academic scholarship.
Throughout the program, attendees will enjoy presentations from our Rector Sayādaw and academic departments, an overview of the admission process, scholarship opportunities, student life at SSBU, and short talks from current students and alumni. An interactive Question and Answer session will also be included to allow direct communication with university representatives.
Whether you are a monk, nun, layperson, or international student interested in the serious study of Buddhism, this event will help you explore how SSBU supports academic excellence, spiritual cultivation, and intercultural understanding.
